The "Token Banque de France AN VIII /LA Fortune" is a commemorative or official token from the Bank of France, dated to "An VIII" (Year 8), which corresponds to 1799-1800. The obverse depicts the goddess Minerva (Wisdom) helping Fortune, who is pouring wealth from a cornucopia, with the inscription "LA SAGESSE FIXE LA FORTUNE" ("Wisdom Restores Fortune"), and the reverse reads "BANQUE DE FRANCE AN VIII" within a wreath.
