Great Britain Queen Victoria Jubilee Head silver double florin coin.

  • Minted for only four years (1887-1890), it is one of the shortest-lived British coin denominations.
  • The obverse (front) features the "Jubilee Head" portrait of Queen Victoria, engraved by Joseph Edgar Boehm, with the inscription "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA" (Victoria by the Grace of God).
  • The coin has a fineness of 0.925 sterling silver, weighs approximately 22.6 grams, and is 36 mm in diameter.
  • It was valued at four shillings but was often confused with the five-shilling crown due to similar size and lack of denomination inscription, earning it the nickname "Barmaid's Ruin".
