British one penny coin featuring the effigy of King George V, who reigned from 1910 to 1936. The inscription around the king's portrait is "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA:BRITT:OMN:REX FID:DEF:IND:IMP:". This is Latin and translates to "George the Fifth, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India". This legend was used on British coins from 1911 to 1936.
